Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) on Tuesday reported a 40 per cent year-on-year jump in net profit to Rs 123 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal and said it will retain the traction for the year backed by volume and margin growth. EBITDA increased by 43 per cent year-on-year to approximately Rs 188 crores in Q1FY'25, up from Rs 131 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Sales also jumped to Rs 1200 crore during the quarter expanding by 26 per cent. "We have posted robust growth in sales and profitability driven by our value-added speciality products in both coal tar, speciality oils and speciality carbon black. Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd, a Kolkata-based speciality chemicals major, to expand its speciality carbon black capacity in a brownfield expansion project in West Bengal, with an estimated investment of Rs 220 crores, a company official said on Sunday. The expansion is envisaged to meet the increasing demand from Europe amid an impending ban on Russian carbon black imports in the EU. The expansion, scheduled to be operational within the next 18 months and located at Singur in the Hooghly district, will be funded through internal accruals. This additional capacity of 70,000 tonnes per annum will increase the company's speciality carbon black capacity to 1.3 lakh tonnes per annum, enhancing the cumulative capacity to 2.5 lakh tonnes from the current 1.8 lakh tonnes, the official added. Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) on Tuesday posted a 67 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 108.78 crore during the quarter ended December 31. It had clocked Rs 65.21 crore net profit during the October-December period of the preceding 2022-23 fiscal, the company said in an exchange filing. The company's total income in the quarter rose to Rs 1,062.70 crore, over Rs 1,045.06 crore a year ago. HSCL trimmed its expenses to Rs 912.55 crore from Rs 965.59 crore. An individual on Wednesday settled a case with markets regulator Sebi in relation to the alleged violation of insider trading norms in the matter of Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd after paying Rs 26 lakh as settlement charges. Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited's profit after tax during the June 2023-24 quarter has more than doubled to Rs 86 crore, on account of reduced expenses. It had posted Rs 38 crore profit after tax (PAT) in the corresponding period in 2022-23, Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited (HSCL) said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday. However, the company's total income fell to Rs 961 crore from Rs 1,048 crore in the year-ago quarter, it said. The expenses also reduced to Rs 842 crore from Rs 1,000 crore earlier. Indian speciality chemicals firm says deal will help it in technologies for battery material
Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited (HSCL) on Saturday reported over three-fold jump in profit after tax to Rs 77 crore for the March 2023 quarter on account of higher revenue. It had posted Rs 21 crore profit after tax (PAT) for the same period in 2021-22, HSCL said in a statement. For the full 2022-23, the company's PAT rose to Rs 208 crore from Rs 65 crore in FY22, registering over three-fold growth. Its total income from revenues also increased to Rs 1,029 crore from Rs 834 crore in the year-ago quarter, the company said. In FY23, revenue surged to Rs 4,172 crore from Rs 2,798 crore in FY22.
