Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Thursday said it is recalling certain units of CRF1100 Africa Twin to rectify issues with throttle operation. The voluntary recall is aligned with the global market action, the two-wheeler maker said in a statement. The recall affects certain units of this adventure motorcycle manufactured between February 2022 and October 2022, it said. The company has identified a concern with the motorcycle's throttle operation, HMSI said. During acceleration, the wheelie control system may get activated unexpectedly which in some cases may lead to loss of balance, it stated. As a corrective measure, Honda will update the ECU software in the affected motorcycles with the correct programming, HMSI said. This will be done free of cost irrespective of the warranty status of the vehicle and shall be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India, it added. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Friday said it is recalling certain units of its superbikes GL1800 Gold Wing and CBR1000RR to inspect and replace faulty fuel pumps. Honda GL1800 Gold Wing manufactured between December 2017 and December 2023 and CBR1000RR manufactured between September 2017 and April 2020 are affected, the two-wheeler major said in a statement. HMSI, however, did not provide an exact number of the units being recalled. "The fuel pump impellers may have been improperly molded, which can cause them to deform and result in fuel pump failure. If the fuel pump module becomes inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall without indication while riding," the company stated. The inspection and replacement of fuel pumps will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India, it added.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said it has commissioned a third assembly line at its Vithalapur (Gujarat)-based manufacturing plant. The third line will add an additional production capacity of 6.5 lakh scooter units, taking the total capacity of the facility to 19.7 lakh units per annum. "To serve customers more efficiently with speed, undertaking this capacity expansion plan will increase HMSI's total annual production volumes significantly," HMSI President, Managing Director & CEO Tsutsumu Otani said in a statement. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Friday reported a 20 per cent rise in total sales at 4,47,849 units in November 2023. The company had sold 3,73,234 units in the same month last year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. Domestic sales were at 4,20,677 units as against 3,53,553 units in the same month a year ago, it added. Exports were also higher at 27,172 units last month as compared to 19,681 units in November 2022, the company said.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Thursday launched its new Dio 125 scooter with price starting at Rs 83,400. Earlier, the Dio was available with a 110cc engine. The company has now introduced a new version with a 125cc engine boosted by eSP (enhanced smart power) feature. The Dio 125 comes with features such as idling stop system, side stand indicator with engine inhibitor, multi-function switch for unlocking seat and opening external fuel lid, telescopic suspension with high 171 mm ground clearance, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. "In its all-new 125cc avatar, the Honda Dio 125 has been specially designed and developed to fulfill the aspirations of young Indian customers," HMSI Managing Director, President & CEO Tsutsumu Otani said. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Friday said it is recalling around 2,000 CB300R bike units due to a manufacturing fault in the right crankcase cover of the engine. The voluntary recall covers the 2022 model of the CB300R. The company has identified that due to an inappropriate manufacturing process of the right crankcase cover of the engine, there are chances of sealing plug dislodging due to low retention force caused by engine heat, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said in a statement. This could further cause the sealing plug to come off and engine oil to splash out, it added. In the worst situation, the oil adhering to hot motorcycle parts may cause fire, its contact with tyres may cause slippage or it may injure the rider due to its hot temperature, the company stated. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 34.5 per cent decline in total sales at 2,11,978 units in March 2023 as compared to 3,23,434 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales were at 1,97,512 units last month as against 3,09,550 units in March 2022, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. Exports were higher at 14,466 units as compared to 13,884 units in the year-ago month, it added. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Friday said it has launched H'ness CB350 and CB350RS bikes with latest emission norms. The price of H'ness CB350 trims start from Rs 2.09 lakh while CB350RS variants are priced upwards of Rs 2.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The models come with on-board diagnostics (OBD2B) system thus conforming to stricter emission norms which will kick-in from next month. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Wednesday reported a 10.7 per cent increase in domestic sales at 2,33,151 units in December 2022. The company had registered domestic sales of 2,10,638 units in the year-ago period, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. "The market is gaining steady momentum against previous months as well as on a year-on-year basis. Factors like healthy festival season, good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility have translated well to rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries," HMSI Managing Director, President & CEO Atsushi Ogata said. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Tuesday reported a 3.97 per cent increase in total sales at 4,49,391 units in October 2022. The company had sold 4,32,229 units in the same month last year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement. In the domestic market, sales were at 4,25,969 units as against 3,94,645 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 7.94 per cent. Exports were lower by 37.68 per cent at 23,422 units as compared to 37,584 units in October last year. "This year's festival season has ushered in a period of real growth & positive sentiment after a challenging period of two-years," HMSI Managing Director, President and CEO Atsushi Ogata said.

During FY22, HMSI exported 332,942 units to various countries mainly Bangladesh, Nepal, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Japan, Peru, UAE, El Salvador and Italy
