Swiss transportation technology company Swisspod and TuTr Hyperloop will collaborate to establish a robust framework for cooperation in the development and deployment of hyperloop technology within India. TuTr Hyperloop is a deep tech incubated startup at IIT Madras. It designs and develops ultra-high-speed ground transportation systems, among others. Both companies together with the governments of Switzerland and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a release said on Friday. Jointly, Swisspod and TuTr Hyperloop will spearhead the design and funding of a testing centre in India that will serve as a hub for refining hyperloop technology, facilitating various experiments and validating its feasibility in real-world conditions. The two companies will pool their expertise and resources to accelerate research, testing, and innovation in the field, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable progression of hyperloop systems. They also plan to "explore and assess potential ..
India is unlikely to go in for hyperloop technology for ultra high-speed trains in the near future as the technology is at a 'very low level' of maturity and may not be economically viable at the current juncture, NITI Aayog Member V K Saraswat said on Sunday. Saraswat, who is heading a committee to explore the technological and commercial viability of the Virgin Hyperloop technology, further said some foreign companies have shown interest to bring the technology in India. "Hyperloop technology as far as we are concerned, we found that the offer which came from foreign countries are not very viable options. They are at a very low level of maturity of technology," he told PTI in an interview. Hyperloop is a high-speed train, running in vacuum in a tube. The technology is proposed Elon Musk, who is behind electric car company Tesla and commercial space transport company SpaceX. "So we have not given much importance to that and as on today, it is only a study programme. I don't expect
IIT Madras has demonstrated contactless propulsion and braking for the project, and will be ready technology-wise by July 2023
Some foreign companies have shown interest to bring hyperloop technology for ultra-high-speed travel in India, but discussions are at a very early stage, Niti Aayog Member VK Saraswat said on Friday. Saraswat, who is heading a committee to explore the technological and commercial viability of the Virgin hyperloop technology, said the committee has prepared a preliminary report. "We have also interacted with some of the companies which are foreign companies, which are already developing this (hyperloop) technology. "They have shown some interest in bringing this technology (to India). The discussion is in a very early stage," he told PTI. Hyperloop is a high-speed train, running in vacuum in a tube. The technology proposed by inventor and businessman Elon Musk, who is behind the electric car company Tesla and the commercial space transport company SpaceX. The Virgin Hyperloop test run was conducted on November 9, 2020, on a 500-metre track in Las Vegas in the US with a pod, as the
Vacuums are expensive to create and maintain, especially over large distances. The hyperloop path is ideally not loopy. It should be a straight line, with few inclines
The Fadnavis government had accorded infrastructure status to the Mumbai-Pune hyperloop project that seeks to reduce the travel time between the two cities to just 23 minutes.
Hyperloop is a ultramodern, superfast transport project which is being implemented to link Mumbai and Pune, which are located around 200km apart
California-based HTT said it is discussing building hyperloop cubes and capsules in India with 11 partners
