Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday said it has tied up with Charge Zone to set up charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. As per a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Charge Zone will install DC 60 kW fast chargers across 100 Hyundai dealerships in India. The strategic partnership aims to aid the expansion of public EV charging infrastructure in the country, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement. These public EV charging stations will also provide convenience to all EV users for intercity and intracity travel considering the locations of dealerships across cities and highways, it added. Automaker Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Monday announced the inauguration of its fast electric-powered vehicles (EV) charging station here, and said this was first of the company's target of installing 100 such facilities across Tamil Nadu. The 180 kW DC fast charging station, comprising of 150 kW and 30 kW connectors, has been set at Spencer Plaza here, and would cater to compatible four-wheelers irrespective of brand and model, a company release said. "As we celebrate 28 years of HMIL in India, we are delighted to inaugurate our first ever 180 kW fast public charging station in Chennai. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Friday reported a 14.5 per cent increase in its total sales at 62,351 units in June. The company had sold a total of 54,474 units in the same month last year, HMIL said in a statement. Domestic sales stood at 49,001 units last month as compared with 40,496 units in June last year, a growth of 21 per cent, it added. Exports stood at 13,350 units as against 13,978 units in the year-ago month, down 4.5 per cent. "With the semiconductor situation showing signs of easing out, the sales numbers have again started showing a positive trend," HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing and Service) Tarun Garg said. Further, he said, the newly launched Hyundai Venue has also received good customer response.
