B2B e-commerce platform Moglix on Wednesday said it has signed an initial pact with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for manufacturing incubation programme. The initiative aims to equip growth phase startups with tools, resources, and opportunities to accelerate their progress and drive innovation in the manufacturing sector, Moglix said. The programme will support over 25 growth phase startups in industries such as chemicals, automotive infrastructure and green energy, Moglix said. These startups will participate in the 12-month manufacturing incubation programme offering access to Moglix's extensive mentor network, supply chain infrastructure, and financial support via its NBFC arm Credlix, it said. Mumbai-based music agency Gatecrash, together with Canada's Music Incubator Institut Franais and digital music company Believe, is inviting application for the sixth edition of its artist development programme Amplify Music Incubator (AMI), which begins on August 14. This year, AMI will also include wellness workshops, consultations for styling for stage shows and a collaboration with the not-for-profit organisation Music Mulakatein. "We conduct two AMIs in a year. As programme facilitators, we are constantly learning and improving by adding newer interventions to it," said Tanish Thakker, founder of AMI. "By listening to artists, we have been able to identify pressure points and add workshops to the programme. The government has allocated Rs 611 crore to incubators and out of that, Rs 61 crore was released to startups under the seed fund scheme so far, an official said on Tuesday. In April 2021, the government launched the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) with a corpus of Rs 945 crore. The corpus is divided over the next four years (till 2025) for providing seed funding to eligible startups through eligible incubators across India. The fund aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialisation. The scheme has completed two years and it is helping in promoting innovation, joint secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Manmeet Nanda told reporters here.
