Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday said its heavy engineering arm has bagged significant orders in the third quarter in the domestic market and abroad. Orders in the range of Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore range are classified as 'significant' by the company. In the overseas market, it secured an order for LNG equipment for a project in the USA, L&T said in a filing to BSE. The business also secured a breakthrough order for a loop reactor in a Propane Dehydrogenation (PDH) Polypropylene (PP) Plant in Turkey. Further, the business has secured a repeat order from a leading oil and gas customer in Saudi Arabia for a Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit revamp project. Fitch Ratings said it has affirmed 'BBB+' rating with stable outlook on Larsen & Toubro and stressed that the ratings indicate strong financial structure and sound financial flexibility of the company. "Fitch Rating has assigned India's Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) first-time Long-Term Foreign- and Local-Currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) of 'BBB+'. The Outlook is Stable," the rating agency said in a statement on Tuesday. The ratings reflect the company's strong market position as a large global engineering and construction company with above-average profitability and solid revenue visibility. "We believe L&T's robust record of steady margins, which is backed by adequate risk management and diversification into stable and high-margin IT and technical services businesses, buffers its ratings against the inherent risks in the E&C (engineering and construction) sector," it said. Engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday said its buildings and factories business vertical has bagged multiple orders. The company has bagged a project from the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata, for constructing a medical college and hospital campus in Kolkata on a design and build mode. This involves a 605-bed hospital and a medical college. The project is to be executed in two phases over a period of 60 months. The scope of work includes civil structure and external development works. L&T's Buildings and factories business has also received several add-on orders. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday said its power transmission and distribution business has bagged multiple orders in the country and overseas. The business has bagged orders to set up two floating solar plants in India. Floating solar projects involve mounting solar modules on structures that float in a water body, typically a reservoir/lake/abandoned quarry. Compared to ground-mounted solar plants, floating solar plants do not require land acquisition and typically involve less civil work. There are other site-specific merits too, besides reduction of water evaporation. The power transmission and distribution (PT&D) vertical has also received orders to set up transmission lines and a gas insulated substation to integrate solar energy zones in Rajasthan and Karnataka. The steel-cutting ceremony of a third cadet-training ship was held at a shipyard in Tamil Nadu's Kattupalli on Saturday, officials said. The ceremony was presided by Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, according to a statement shared by a spokesperson of the Indian Navy. The steel-cutting ceremony of the third cadet training ship (yard-18005) was held at the M/s L&T Shipyard, Kattupalli, the statement said. Senior officials from the Navy and Larsen and Toubro (L&T) were present on the occasion. The contract for indigenous design and the construction of three cadet-training ships was concluded between the defence ministry and L&T in March 2023, the statement said. These cadet-training ships will be utilised for training officer cadets at sea after their basic training ashore. These ships will also extend a training facility to cadets from friendly foreign countries, the statement said. The ships are likely to be delivered to the Indian Navy starting September 2026.
