Apple to start selling 'Made in India' iPhone 16 Pro from this month

iPhone maker Apple on Friday said it will open four more stores in India, located in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. The company said it will also roll out its first-ever "made in India" iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max series devices this month. "We're thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India because we're inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country. Maruti Suzuki commences export of Made in India SUV Fronx to Japan

Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said it has commenced export of its sports utility vehicle Fronx to Japan. The first consignment of over 1,600 vehicles left for Japan from Gujarat's Pipavav port, the country's largest carmaker said in a statement. Fronx will be the first SUV from Maruti Suzuki stable to be launched in Japan, it added. The company rolls out the model exclusively from its Gujarat plant. Fronx is the second model from Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan, after Baleno in 2016. Suzuki Motor Corporation, which owns around 58 per cent stake in Maruti Suzuki, plans to introduce Fronx in the Japanese market later this year. "Japan is one of the most quality-conscious and advanced automobile markets in the world. 'India moving fast in defence production, 2,920 items indigenised so far'

India is moving "fast and steady" in defence production and so far indigenised 2,920 defence items out of 4,666 listed items, Director (DIP), Department of Defence Production, Amit Satija said on Wednesday. He was speaking on the topic ' Enhancing the participation of MSMEs in the Defence sector' at a state-level conclave of Defence MSMEs in Nagpur, organised by the FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry). Satija said multiple initiatives have been undertaken by the Ministry of Defence, especially the Department of Defence Production. "Out of 4,666 defence items, including assemblies, sub-assemblies, raw materials, critical spares and components etc, which were listed for indigenisation, 2,920 items have already been indigenised," he said. Govt relaxes certain quality control order norms for AC manufacturers

The government has relaxed quality control order (QCO) norms for the air conditioner industry to promote ease of doing business. The order was issued in 2019 and it came into effect from October last year. These relaxations have been given after a detailed stakeholder consultation with the industry. To resolve the issues faced by the industry due to the order, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has introduced amendments. According to a government notification, Hermetic Compressors of more than 7000 W (2 TR) capacity have been removed from the order for one year for the manufacturers of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and related parts. It has also exempted 200 numbers of goods or articles imported per year for the purpose of research and development by the manufacturers. 'Made in India' label on steel products to boost brand India: Scindia

The government on Thursday rolled out an initiative under which steel makers will add 'Made in India' labels to their products to promote locally-made goods at the global level. The move is aimed at realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' vision, Union Steel Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia said. In the first phase, all Integrated Steel Players (ISPs) have been included under the initiative to introduce branding and labelling of 'Made-in-India' steel products in the global market, the Ministry of Steel said in a statement. The Secondary Steel Industries (SSIs) will join the initiative in the second phase, it said. Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt Ltd on Thursday said it is set to accelerate supplies of products manufactured in the country for both domestic and international markets with the commercialisation of its third plant. The company, a wholly-owned arm of Japan's Daikin Industries Ltd said its third integrated air-conditioning and compressor manufacturing facility at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, has been set up with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. Made-In-India Honda Elevate ready to run on Japanese road next year

Japanese auto major Honda is all set to introduce its India-made mid-sized SUV Elevate in the Japanese market next year. It would be the first instance that a product manufactured by Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), a wholly-owned unit of the Japanese firm, will be exported to the highly regulated Japanese market. HCIL is rolling out Elevate from its Tapukara (Rajasthan-based) production facility.
