The Odisha government today performed the groundbreaking ceremony for 15 new industrial projects. The state had bagged investment intents for these projects at the 'Make in Odisha' conclave, a showpiece investment summit in December last year.Chief minister Naveen Patnaik performed the ground breaking for the new projects that coincided with the 75th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) and announcement of the second edition of the Make in Odisha conclave. The second such investment conclave is scheduled from November 11-15 next year.The decision to stage the second 'Make in Odisha' conclave, now tipped to be a biennial affair, stems from the success the state tasted at its inaugural edition. Odisha drew investment intents valued at Rs 2.03 lakh crore at the inaugural summit.These 15 projects will see investment of 11,690 crore and generate 8,187 employment opportunities. After successfully hosting the 'Make In Odisha' summit in December 2016, the state government is gearing up to organise its showpiece investment summit in 2018.Even though a final call on a specific dates is yet to be taken, the initiation for hosting the showpiece event has taken off.In 2016, Odisha for the first time had organized 'Make in Odisha' jointly with the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).Officials said that the state industries secretary will be meeting with the officials of state industrial promotion agency IPICOL (the Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd), land acquisition agency Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation and mining PSU Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC)."Particulars about the date and month of hosting Make In Odisha is likely to emerge after the meeting", said an industries department official.The Make in Odisha conclave, the state's biggest showpiece ..
