Elections are over, now pay attention to law and order: Sisodia to BJP

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Wednesday cited a minor girl's sexual assault in Tilak Nagar recently and slammed the BJP over law and order situation in the city. The former deputy minister of Delhi claimed that crimes against women were on the rise and the perpetrators were not afraid of law. "I want to say to the BJP that elections are over and now it should pay attention to law and order that has collapsed in Delhi," he said addressing a press conference here. Sisodia alleged that criminals were fearless because they knew the BJP's priorities were just to abuse Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The BJP has come back to power in Delhi defeating the AAP in February 5 assembly elections. The BJP's new government will take oath in a ceremony at Ramleela Maidan here on Thursday.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said states having a double-engine BJP government have progressed in the last 10 years, but Delhi has been left behind because the AAP keeps making excuses and fighting with the Centre. Addressing a public meeting in Jangpura in south Delhi, Shah dubbed AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia as "bade miyan and chote myian" who have looted Delhi. Shah said Sisodia, who is fighting elections from the Jangpura Assembly seat, is the only education minister in the country who went to jail in a liquor scam. "States having a double-engine BJP government have progressed in the last 10 years. Delhi has been left behind, they keep fighting with the Centre. Delhi excise case: Court exempts Kejriwal, Sisodia from appearing in person

A Delhi court on Friday exempted former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Durgesh Pathak from personally appearing in a excise case as they were campaigning for upcoming assembly elections. Special judge Kaveri Baweja allowed the reprieve after the three AAP leaders said they were unable to personally appear in court as they were "actively engaged" in campaigning for the elections. "In view of the above said submissions, personal appearance of the applicants are exempted for today only through counsel... The case is adjourned to February 3, 2025," the judge said. The money laundering case stems from a CBI case lodged after Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena recommended a probe into the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy. The Delhi government implemented the policy on
