15% annual growth vital for achieving $ 2.7 trn GSDP: Chandrababu Naidu

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday unveiled a series of economic growth projections for Andhra Pradesh, saying that an annual growth rate of 15 per cent over the next 22 years is essential to achieve a GSDP of USD 2.74 trillion by 2047. Addressing a press conference at the CM's Office, Naidu emphasised that maintaining a consistent growth rate of 15 per cent would result in a GSDP of Rs 347 lakh crore (USD 2.74 trillion) by 2047, along with a per capita income of Rs 58 lakh (USD 45,787). If the state's income increases, personal income will also rise. The combined wealth of everyone in the state becomes the state's wealth. Tirupati stampede: Andhra govt announces Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia for victims

The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh each to the kin of the deceased devotees who died in a stampede here. Six devotees died and nearly 40 more were injured in the stampede at Bairagi Patteda near MGM School in Tirupati on Wednesday night as hundreds of them jostled for tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple on Tirumala Hills. Hundreds of devotees turned up from across the country for the 10-day Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam commencing from January 10. "The state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the deceased persons," said an official release. State Revenue Minister A Satya Prasad said Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia has been announced to support the families of the deceased devotees. "We cannot replace life with anything else. Tirupati stampede: Andhra CM Naidu to visit injured in hospitals today

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will leave for Tirupati on Thursday to visit those injured in a stampede, sources said. Six devotees died and over 40 were injured in the stampede on Wednesday night as hundreds of them jostled for tickets for Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple on Tirumala Hills. Naidu will be visiting SVR Ruia Government General Hospital and SVIMS Hospital between noon and 3 pm, where the injured are being treated, sources said.
