'Landing permission for Rahul's aircraft neither granted nor denied'

A Defence spokesperson said on Friday that the Union Defence Ministry had neither accorded nor denied landing permission for an aircraft carrying Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the Naval airport in Kochi. The clarification came after the Congress alleged that the Ministry of Defence denied landing permission for Gandhi's chartered flight at the Naval facility early on Friday. The defence spokesperson told PTI that the request for "an unscheduled chartered flight along with the flight plan" was received at INS Garuda air station at Kochi at 09.40 am on Friday and at Navy HQ at about 10.15 am for takeoff from Kannur Airport at 10.45 am. "Due to the delayed request and paucity of time prior to the departure of the flight, the clearance for the same could not be processed," he told PTI. Rajnath Singh opens Integrated simulator complex at Southern Naval Command

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC) 'Dhruv' at the Southern Naval Command here. The ISC 'Dhruv' hosts modern state-of-the-art indigenously-built simulators that will significantly enhance practical training in the Indian Navy, a government release said. "These simulators are envisaged to give real-time experience on navigation, fleet operations and naval tactics. These simulators will also be utilised for training of personnel from friendly countries," it said. Amongst the many simulators in the complex, Singh visited the Multi-Station Handling Simulator (MSSHS), Air Direction and Helicopter Control Simulator (ADHCS) and the Astronavigation Dome, it said. The ADHCS -- developed by Institute for Systems Studies and Analysis, a DRDO laboratory -- would be able to provide real-time operational environment scenarios to trainees, it said. The Ship Handling Simulators produced by ARI Pvt Ltd, New Delhi have been exported to 18 .

Naval Vessel Tarini on return passage to India after expedition

After a six-month-long transoceanic intercontinental expedition, the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini is on her return passage to India.The Indian Navy said on Saturday, that the expedition commences at Goa on November 17, 2022, and is scheduled to complete at the same venue on May 24 later this month.Taking to Twitter, Indian Navy said, "The countdown begins! #INSVTarini Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini is on her return passage to #India after a 6 month long transoceanic intercontinental expedition that commenced at Goa on 17 Nov 22 & is scheduled to complete at the same venue on 24 May 23".The Indian Navy said that during the expedition, Tarini sailed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil via Cape Town, South Africa, participating in Cape to Rio Race 2023, and will complete an arduous 17000 nm passage as she touches the Indian shores again.During the expedition, the vessel braved storms, rough seas, strong winds and heavy weather that battered her hull but could not dent the spirit, ..
