Automaker Renault India on Tuesday said it has partnered with technology-enabled digital service provider BLS E-Services to enhance availability and accessibility of its vehicles in rural India. The two partners have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for enhancing the reach of Renault's 2024 range of Kwid, Triber and Kiger in the rural market, the company said in a statement. Under the collaboration, Renault India will leverage BLS E-Services' widespread network of approximately 1 lakh touchpoints, along with 1,016 digital stores to drive awareness and facilitate sales of Renault cars in rural and semi-urban regions across the country, it added. French automaker Renault is looking to re-enter the robustly growing mid-sized SUV segment in India as it gears up to drive in three new models in the country by 2025, as per a top company official. The automaker, which sells three models in the domestic market, aims to introduce two internal combustion models and one electric vehicle by 2025. In an interaction with PTI, Renault India Operations Country CEO & Managing Director Venkatram Mamillapalle said the company is looking to enter the segment with a lot of innovations. Renault currently sells three models -- Kwid, Triber and Kiger--in the Indian market. "The three (existing models) will continue...And then the new products will come in..We will go into the four plus metres segment, 4.3 metres basically," he noted. Automaker Renault on Thursday said it has upgraded its entire product range conforming to the upcoming stricter emission norms in the country. The company's entire range, including Kiger, Triber and Kwid, will meet the second phase of BS VI emission norms which will kick-in from April 1 this year. With the implementation of the second phase of BS VI norms, all company cars will be equipped with a self-diagnostic device, the automaker said. The device will constantly monitor the vehicle's emission levels while driving, along with other critical emission devices such as the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, it added. Carmaker Renault India on Wednesday said it will increase the prices of its vehicles across models from the next month to partially offset rising input costs. The company -- which sells small car Kwid, multi-utility vehicle Triber and compact SUV Kiger with prices ranging from Rs 4.64 lakh to Rs 10.62 lakh -- however, did not disclose the quantum of its impending price hike. "Reasons for the price hike are to partially offset the impact of constant increases in input costs largely driven by pricier commodities, fluctuations in foreign exchange rates, inflation and also due to regulatory obligations," Renault India said in a statement.
