HAL, IIIT Dharwad sign MoU for collaborative research, skill development

On the final day of Aero India 2025, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has announced that the HAL Management Academy, its nodal training agency, and the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Dharwad have signed a MoU to strengthen industry-academia collaboration in advanced technologies. The partnership will focus on joint research, internships, and technical education in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, AR/VR, and Digital Manufacturing, particularly in applications relevant to the aerospace and defence sectors, stated a press release issued by HAL on Friday. GCCs to create 450K new jobs in 2025 as companies plan to expand: Report

Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are expected to create 4.25-4.5 lakh new jobs this year and 1 million in the next six years, with 35 per cent of companies aiming for 50-100 per cent workforce expansion, a report said on Wednesday. According to the India GCC Growth Outlook 2024 report by global technology and digital talent solutions provider NLB Services, India has emerged as the top GCC destination fuelled by its vast skilled workforce and supportive policies. The Centre will engage youth volunteers to visit colleges across the country and ramp up enrolment on the MY Bharat portal, a one stop platform to empower Indian youth and contribute to realising the prime minister's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Govt will launch skill voucher system very soon, says top official

The government will soon launch a skill voucher system, Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Atul Kumar Tiwari said on Thursday, asserting that the Centre is actively seeking industry partnerships to upgrade 1,000 industrial training institutes nationwide. The ambitious plan, he shared, aims to transform 200 industrial training institutes (ITIs) into hub institutions, with 800 more serving as spoke facilities as part of a major initiative to enhance the country's skill development ecosystem.
