Titan Company on Saturday said it is launching its jewellery brand Tanishq in Bangladesh as part of expansion plans in the international market. On Friday, the Tata Group-managed firm signed a JV agreement to this effect with Rhythm Group which will make Tanishq available across the Bangladesh market, according to a joint statement. The joint venture will commence with the opening of the manufacturing facility in Narayanganj, in Bangladesh, it added. Besides the domestic market, Titan is expanding Tanishq's presence in the international market and operates 17 stores across the UAE, US, Qatar, Singapore and Oman. Its watch business has a presence in SAARC, MENA (Middle East and North Africa), Southeast Asian regions. In the last few years, it has focused on growing its flagship jewellery brand Tanishq overseas. Tata Group's Titan Company Ltd has drawn up aggressive expansion plans across its various brand verticals, especially jewellery vertical Tanishq and saree label Taneira this year, a top official said. The company is also planning to launch its exclusive ladies' handbag brand store 'Earth' sometime later this year, Titan's Managing Director C K Venkataraman said. Tanishq, a jewellery brand from the Tata Group, plans to have 50 boutiques globally over the long term, said Kuruvilla Markose, the CEO of Titan Company which manages the brand business, as it opened a boutique here on Saturday. Tata Group's Titan Company plans to open nine new stores of its jewellery brand Tanishq in Gujarat in the coming months, taking the number of stores to 28 in the state by the end of this fiscal, a top company official said here on Friday. Moreover, the company is also planning to expand its overseas presence by opening international stores in countries including the United States and Australia in the near future, said C K Venkataraman, Managing Director of Titan Company Ltd.
