Tata Advanced Systems Limited on Monday announced the "successful deployment" into space of its sub-metre optical satellite that was assembled and tested in India. SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launched TSAT-1A satellite from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, in the US on Sunday (April 7), Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) said in a statement. "TSAT-1A will deliver high-resolution optical satellite images with increased collection capacity, dynamic range, and low-latency delivery through its multispectral and hyperspectral capabilities," the company said. Airbus on Thursday said it has signed contracts with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Mahindra Aerospace Structures Private Limited (MASPL) to procure commercial aircraft components. Under the contract, TASL and Mahindra Aerostructures will manufacture metallic detail parts, components and assemblies for Airbus' A320neo, A330neo and A350 programmes, a press release from Airbus said. Aerospace and defence solutions provider Tata Advanced Systems Ltd on Wednesday said it has entered into a collaboration with Satellogic Inc for establishing and developing local space technology capabilities in India. The partnership with Satellogic -- a leader in sub-metre resolution Earth Observation (EO) data collection, is a first step in the company's satellite strategy, Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) said in a statement. For Satellogic it is a significant milestone as it enters the fast-growing Indian defence and commercial market, it added. TASL and Satellogic will collaborate on the development of a new satellite design and work together to integrate multiple payloads on a single satellite that will generate a diverse range of data over India. European aviation major Airbus said on Wednesday it has mandated Tata Advanced Systems to manufacture cargo and bulk cargo doors of the A320neo aircraft family. TASL will produce these doors at a new facility in Hyderabad, using cutting-edge robotics and automation technology, Arbus said in a statement. Each shipset will include two cargo doors and one bulk cargo door, according to the aircraft manufacturer. The announcement came weeks after Tata Group-owned Air India placed an order for 470 aircraft, including 270 planes with Airbus. The contract is a significant step towards increasing Airbus' competitiveness in the single-aisle aircraft market and supporting the ramp-up of the A320 programme, Airbus said in the statement. GE Aerospace and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd have extended their long term contract worth USD 1 billion for production and supply of several commercial aircraft engine components. The engine parts will be manufactured at the Tata Centre of Excellence for Aero Engines (Tata-TCoE). In a joint release on Friday, GE Aerospace and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) said they have extended the manufacturing agreement under which TASL will continue to produce and supply several commercial aircraft engine components to GE's global engine manufacturing factories. "The multi-year long term contract is valued over USD 1 billion and showcases the growing relationship between GE and TASL in the aerospace industry," the release said.
