Amid claims that the edtech company is up for sale, Unacademy Co-Founder and CEO Gaurav Munjal in a social media post asserted that the management is building the company for the long run. "There is a lot being said about Unacademy currently. To set the record straight, Unacademy will have its best year in terms of growth and profitability. We also have many years of runway. We are building Unacademy for the long run," Munjal said on social media platform X. A high-powered delegation of 31 provosts, vice provosts, deans, and other leaders from 17 top American universities are travelling to India next week as part of their goal to strengthen India-US collaboration and student and scholar mobility between the two countries. The delegation from the American universities will visit 26 institutions in New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The multiple entry and exit system is being operated by western educational institutions quite effectively but Indian institutions are likely to face several issues in its implementation, a parliamentary panel has noted. Edtech firm Infinity Learn by Shri Chaitanya has turned profitable in the second year of its operation, with revenue of over Rs 100 crore, a senior company official said on Thursday. Infinity Learn by Sri Chaitanya founding CEO Ujjwal Singh said the company expects Rs 500 crore in revenue by 2025 and over seven times growth in overall subscriber base to 5 crore. "In less than two years of commencing operations, we have turned profitable, and our topline has crossed Rs 100 crore. We aim to be a Rs 500 crore firm by 2025," Singh told PTI. Infinity Learn commenced operation in June 2021 and closed the first fiscal with a loss of Rs 37 crore. The edtech firm, at present, has a gross user base of 70 lakh, out of which 7.5 lakh are paid subscribers.
