Two and three wheeler major TVS Motor company has garnered a 20 per cent sales in September by retailing 4,82,495 units, the company said on Tuesday. The city-headquartered company had registered sales of 4,02,553 units during the same month of last year. Sales of electric vehicles last month surged by 42 per cent to 28,901 units, from 20,356 units sold in the same month of last year. Total two-wheeler sales recorded a 22 per cent growth to 4,71,792 units in September 2024, as compared to 3,86,955 units in same month of last year. Sales of two-wheeler in domestic market went up by 23 per cent to 3,69,138 units, from 3,00,493 units sold in September 2023. Sales of motorcycles in September 2024 grew by 23 per cent to 2,29,268 units, as against 1,86,438 units sold in corresponding month of last year. TVS Motor Company on Sunday said its total sales increased 13 per cent year-on-year to 3,91,588 units in August as compared with the same month last year. The company had dispatched 3,45,848 units to its dealers in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Total two-wheeler sales last month stood at 3,78,841 units as against 3,32,110 units recorded in August 2023, a growth of 14 per cent. Two-wheeler sales in the domestic market grew 13 per cent year-on-year to 2,89,073 units last month from 2,56,619 units in August 2023. Total exports registered a growth of 14 per cent with sales increasing from 87,515 units in August last year to 99,976 units last month.

TVS Motor Company on Thursday reported a 9 per cent increase in total sales at 3,54,140 units in July as compared to 3,25,977 units in the same month last year. Total two-wheelers sales were at 3,39,676 units during the month under review against 3,12,307 units in July 2023, a growth of 9 per cent, TVS Motor Co said in a statement. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 8 per cent to 2,54,250 units in July over 2,35,230 units in the year-ago period. TVS Motor Co said its motorcycle sales in July registered a growth of 5 per cent at 1,61,074 units as compared to 1,53,942 units in the same month last year. Scooter sales grew 15 per cent to 1,39,995 units in July 2024 from 1,21,941 units in July 2023. Electric vehicle sales rose 61 per cent to 21,442 units last month against 13,306 units a year ago. TVS Motor Company Ltd on Wednesday said it has started its operations in Italy with plans to introduce a range of both conventional as well as electric scooters and motorcycles. The company is expanding its operations in Italy via its branch office, TVS Motor Italia, headed by Giovanni Notarbartolo di Furnari, TVS Motor Co said in a regulatory filing. Furnari brings extensive experience from senior managerial roles in major automotive companies in Italy, Latin America, the UAE, and Europe, it added. "Our move into Italy is a strategic step towards our global ambitions," TVS Motor Co President, Head Group Strategy, Sharad Mohan Mishra said. The company will introduce its TVS Apache 310 Series bike, available in RR and RTR versions, that has been developed in collaboration with BMW. TVS Motor Company on Friday said its wholesales rose 33 per cent year-on-year to 3,68,424 units in February. The company had dispatched 2,76,150 units in February 2023. Total two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 34 per cent to 3,57,810 units last month from 2,67,026 units in February last year, the company said in a statement. Domestic two-wheeler dispatches to dealers registered growth of 21 per cent at 2,67,502 units as compared with 2,21,402 units in the same period last year. The company said its electric vehicle sales stood at 17,959 units last month, an increase of 16 per cent, as compared with 15,522 units in February 2023.
TVS Motor reported a 23 per cent increase in vehicle sales to to 339,513 units in January. The company had recorded total sales of 275,115 units in January last year, TVS Motor said in a statement. Sale of two-wheelers registered a growth of 25 per cent with sales increasing from 264,710 units in January 2023 to 329,937 units in January 2024. Of this, domestic sales spiked 24 per cent to 268,233 units in the previous month, it said. In the two-wheeler segment, motorcycle volumes were up 29 per cent to 1,55,611 units from 1,21,042 units in January last year, it said. Two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor is aiming to capture a bigger market share in the premium motorcycle segment, an official of the company said on Wednesday. The company enjoys the number two position in the premium motorbike segment in India, which is growing at 10 per cent at present, he said. Motorcycles having an engine displacement of 150 cc and above are categorised in the premium segment. "We enjoy the number two position in the premium segment in the Indian motorcycle market. We aim to have a bigger market share in this category," Vimal Sumbly, head (premium business) of TVS Motor said. Launching the TVS Apache RTR 310 in Kolkata, Sumbly said the company now offers premium motorcycles ranging from 160 cc to 310 cc displacements. TVS Motor Company aims to expand its electric two-wheeler portfolio over the next one year as it looks to cater to customers at multiple price points, according to a top company official. The Chennai-based company, which currently has two e-scooters in its portfolio, also plans to expand its electric vehicle sales infrastructure going ahead. It is also developing an electric three-wheeler. "We are also planning to launch a series of products in the range of 5 to 25 kilowatts in the next year," TVS Motor Company Director and CEO K N Radhakrishnan said in an analyst call. He noted that with robust demand in the market, the company has ramped up the production capacity of electric scooter iQube to 25,000 units per month and plans to enhance it further going ahead. TVS Motor Company on Wednesday reported a 21 per cent increase in total dispatches to 4,34,714 units in October, its highest-ever monthly sales. The company sold 3,60,288 units in October last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Two-wheeler sales were at 4,20,610 units in October as against 3,44,630 units in the year-ago period, up 22 per cent, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 25 per cent to 344,957 units in October as against 2,75,934 units a year ago. Motorcycles posted a growth of 23 per cent at 2,01,965 units last month, up from 1,64,568 units in October 2022, while scooter clocked 1,65,135 units as against 1,35,190 units, an increase of 22 per cent.
