Uchana
Uchana represented by former Haryana deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, 36. Dushyant served as deputy under Manohar Lal Khattar after 2019 polls when BJP failed to get majority and his party Jannayak Janta Party emerged kingmaker. In the 2019, Chautala defeated Prem Lata, the wife of veteran leader Birender Singh - former Union Minister.
JJP was earlier a part of the INLD but split in December 2018 and is headed by Dushyant's father Ajay Singh Chautala. INLD is headed by OP Chautala, five time former Haryana CM. His son Abhay Singh Chautala is a senior leader of the INLD. OP Chautala's father was Chaudhary Devi Lal - former dy PM. The split was caused by the infighting among the Chautala family, after which Dushyant and his brother Digvijay were expelled from the party.
In 2014, he became youngest MP in the Lok Sabha at the age of 26.
Both parties are trying to live up to the political legacy of Devi Lal but are facing an extinction threat in Haryana. Devi Lal is known as one of the tallest farmer leaders and a key Jat leader in north India. Both parties secured less than 2 per cent vote share in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
On this seat, BJP has named Devender Attri and Congress: Brijendra Singh for 2024 Assembly polls. Singh, a former IAS and BJP turncoat, joined Congress in March this year.
