Bangalore police to monitor traffic on CCTVs

 The vehicular speed during peak hour traffic in the city is 10 kmph. The police plan to double the speed of the vehicles by decongesting the traffic using video surveillance.

 The police have selected Bosch's CCTV camera technology for the new traffic monitoring system. As many as 40 Bosch CCTV cameras with zooming, panning and tilting capabilities have been deployed at strategic locations to monitor and control traffic at key junctions.

 "The monitoring system consists of a video management software, which will help police monitor the traffic using video feed at the central command centre. The Bosch CCTV system will help the traffic police in ensuring disciplined driving," Bosch Security Systems India
