I have a 2001 Daewoo Matiz. The problem is that according to the workshop where I get the car serviced, I have to get the car's spark plugs changed. The car's fuel economy is on the low side right now. |
I also got the fuel injectors cleaned recently. Just want to know, are spark plugs in any way responsible for the fuel efficiency of a car? By getting them changed, will I get even higher fuel economy? |
I am refraining from getting the spark plugs changed as I have no starting problems and think that I can postpone the expenditure till the next service. |
Pathik Nimbalkar, via email Fresh, clean and unpitted spark plugs are indeed vital to the healthy functioning of an engine " they have to be replaced every once in a while to keep the engine running efficiently and smoothly. |
Since your car is already about three years old, we recommend that you spend a little money and get the suitable replacements made " see that you get the correct plug size to match the existing set though. If you are perceptive enough, you'll feel the difference almost immediately. |
