CII fair on construction equipment

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will be organising third edition of Excon 2005, trade fair on construction equipment and construction technology, during November 30 to December 4 at Bangalore.
 
The event has been positioned to showcase the engineering skills of India and its potential as a global outsourcing destination for manufacture of construction equipment and components.
 
Excon 2005 will showcase the latest advancements in construction engineering with emphasis latest products, equipment and technology with specific focus on efficiency, productivity, safety, environment protection and construction quality.
 
The event is also expected to lay a special emphasis on completion of infrastructure projects with international standards.
 
Over 170 companies in the construction equipment and construction technology sector will be participating in Excon 2005, which will spread over 30,000 sq mts of net display space. Some 11 countries will participate in the event.
 
The exhibit profile includes display of earth moving equipment, material handling equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic drilling equipment, paving equipment, trenchers, underground cable laying, pipe laying, drainage and trench digging equipment, spare parts and accessories, among others.
 
As part of Excon 2005, there will be a series of seminars on the construction equipment and technology sector. One of the seminars will present a roadmap in developing India as a construction equipment manufacturing hub and components outsourcing hub.
 
CII will also release a report on "The construction industry in India", will lay out the road map for scaling up exports of construction equipment and components from India.
 
Besides China, India is expected to be the biggest growth market in infrastructure and construction with an estimated $200 billion investment in infrastructure in the next five years. According to estimates, the size of construction equipment industry in India is estimated between Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore.
