The first one-day international between India and Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo was called off due to heavy rains on Saturday.

The outfield had already taken a battering because of the overnight rains, and further rains in the morning dismissed any chances of the match resuming today.

The match was suspended on Friday evening due to inclement weather with India, electing to bat, on 11 for no loss. While Rahul Dravid was on nine, Sachin Tendulkar was on two runs.
