With an ISO 9001 certification for his DJ (Disc jockey) Training Institute, Ludhiana-based Bhanu Ahuja has maintained his image of being a trendsetter.

Bhanu's Studio 69 is the first DJ training institute in the country to receive an ISO certification as claimed by the man himself.

Talking to Business Standard about his musical journey, DJ Bhanu said, "I began DJing way back in 1996 when majority of people in this city had no idea what I was talking about. But then small private parties helped me establish myself and Studio 69 soon became a brand. Now over the years, this work has grown into many fields like DJ training institute, light-and-sound installing and event and artists management. And I felt this strong need to streamline all my affairs and that is how I decided to go in for this certification.''

"The mark ISO as such lends a lot of credibility and now I have some set quality standards for myself that I have to maintain as my certification will be audited every six months,'' he added.

Well this man, who was given the award of Innovative Entrepreneur of the year in 2202 by Ludhiana Management Association (LMA), will soon be trying his hand in remixes.

''I have launched two albums U & me and Wet and Wild. But I am tied in contract with the company and the moment this contract is off, I plan to do a lot of experiments.''

Rubbishing the title of being exorbitant, Bhanu said, ''In present times, we have DJs in every nook and corner of the city. And I only demand money for the quality of work I give. I also suggest a Rs 5,000 DJ package for my client who is organising a 150-people birthday bash but then at the same time I also suggest a Rs 1.5-lakh package for a big event like marriage or reception.''

''For my training institute, I have tied up with three well-known names in DJ industry who give me technical support namely Propeller Head from Sweden, DJ Suketu and Pro Musical, a company from Chennai. Then the kind of equipment, which I use here in Ludhiana, is being used by some of the best and most expensive DJs in Delhi. Quality comes at a price,'' he adds.
