 Legends abound; Babe Ruth is said to have once consumed 24 hot dogs between games of double header, and Bruce Willis proposed to Demi Moore at a hot dog stand.

 In India, desi variants are available at many eating joints; these generally contain chicken sausages or vegetable patties, onions, tomatoes and ketchup as fillings, sometimes with a dash of mayonnaise.
