India's National (motorcycle road racing) Champion Preetham Dev Moses has decided to move on and race in the 2006 FIM Asian Road Racing Championship at all the six rounds, to be held at Sepang, Sentul (Indonesia), Zhuhai (China) and Beijing where his competition will be some of Asia's finest riders.

He will also race in the Malaysian Superseries with Team Raceline. The Superseries consists of five rounds at Sepang. Sixteen-year old Ashwin Sunder, is also going abroad.

Like Preetam, he will be racing in the FIM ARRC Championship and the Malaysian Superseries but in the 110cc and 125cc underbone (step-through) classes respectively.

Sunder started racing motorcycles in 2005 and stood third for TVS Racing in his first season on motorcycles in the 110-160cc Group D class. All the best guys!

Trans Europa Express

The Europa S is Lotus' latest offering "� a refined GT-inspired two-seater. It's a bit different from the Lotus norm "� leather-clad interiors with a sedan-like roof-line and more boot space than the Elise and Exige.

The new car is designed by Russell Carr, Lotus' in-house designer who did both the current Elise and Exige. The Europa will sport an all-aluminium chassis with a 2000cc turbo-petrol engine that belts out 200 bhp at 5400 rpm.

It will be capable of reaching 225 kph and should get to 160 kph in 14 seconds. It also comes with a host of creature comforts and safety features that include driver and passenger airbags. The perfect way to criss-cross Europe then?

Young guns

MH Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai is participating in the 2006 Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Championships at Hockenheim, Germany.

The championship is an arena for amateur race engineers who will work in a team to design and build a 600cc single seater formula car meeting preset SAE specification.

A total of 140 teams will compete. The competition is highly regarded as a prep school for future World Rally Championship and Formula One engineers. Team MHSSC is looking for sponsors.
