From being a medial representative of a small drug company to the managing director of Healthcare Associates, a company engaged in healthcare advisory and consultancy services, Sanjeev Dhavan has seen it all. |
Before starting Healthcare Associates in May 2003, Dhavan began his career as a medical representative in a small pharmaceutical company in 1985. |
In 1994, he was appointed as a sales manager in Zydus Cadila. He even worked as general manager (marketing) in Sterling Hospital, Ahmedabad, in 2001 and as chief general manager in Sal Hospital, Ahmedabad, in 2002. |
'Swasthya Stuti Clinic' was the first venture of Healthcare Associates in association with the State Bank of India Employees' Union. |
"Swasthya Stuti Clinic aims at providing state-of-the-art medical facilities at one-tenth of the cost charged by doctors in other clinics," said Sanjeev Dhavan. |
Healthcare Associates has conducted various health awareness workshops for government employees, public and private sector companies, including Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), the Reserve Bank of India, and others. |
Dhavan also advises some leading doctors and few hospitals in the state on drug marketing issues. |
Dhavan is planning to expand his consultancy services by attracting medical tourists. He is also working with a few third-party administrators to provide services at cheaper rates. |
Dhavan, who likes reading, claims that he is a good cook and can challenge his brother-in-law, Sanjeev Kapoor, of Khana-Kazhana fame. |
He says he got motivated from his family and relatives, before whom he used to feel shy to be introduced as a medical representative and decided to do something different. |
He defines his success as 'It's better to be extraordinary in an ordinary field than to be ordinary in an extraordinary field'. |
