Sachin Tendulkar has found a new way to relax and improve concentration. The superstar has taken to golf, albeit in the hallway. In the Marriott Karachi, Tendulkar asked for some clubs and golf balls and practised his putting into a glass placed some distance away.

Tendulkar first started playing golf while recuperating in the United States, following the surgery on his heels. The doctor there prescribed golf as one sport that he was allowed to play during that time.

Soon bogeys and tees will become homework.The Singapore Management University intends to introduce bogeys and birdies as golf is likely to become part of the curriculum.

The university believes golf is a way to build networking and other social skills. Some 200 students will go through the university's basic golf programme starting next month. Eventually all of the school's 2,200 students will study either golf or sailing

Inviting Zhang

China's Zhang Lian-Wei has received a special invitation to play in the Masters, making him the first player from China at Augusta National.

The Masters, first of the four majors, start April 8. Zhang last year became the first Chinese winner on the European Tour at the Caltex Masters.

Love Donation

Davis Love III donated his $700,000 winnings from the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, to his local church.

Love lost to Tiger Woods in the final match at La Costa, a Sunday that turned sour when he was heckled by a fan during a pivotal stretch of the 36-hole match.
