Google doodles 200th year of Grimm's Fairy tales

For the doodle, Google narrates the story of Little Red Riding Hood over 22 slides

Google’s use of doodle to commemorate artists and events have become quite famous. Today Google has used its logo to mark the 200th anniversary of Grimm’s Fairy Tales.

For the doodle, Google narrates the story of Little Red Riding Hood over 22 slides. Grimm’s Fairy Tales also called as the Children’s and Household Tales is a collection of German folk tales first published in 1812 by the Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm.

Some of the classics include, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Rapunzel, The Frog Prince among others.

Google’s doodle have been famous for recreating the search giant’s logo to mark an important event or artist. The search giant started to make these doodle’s interactive from 2010, when it commemorated the popular game Pac-Man.

On May 21, 2010 Google celebrated the 30th anniversary of arcade game Pac-Man in association with Namco. Everyone visiting Google could play Pac-Man on the logo, which featured the letters of the word ‘Google’ on the Pac-Man maze. The logo also mimicked the sounds of the original arcade game. The “I’m Feeling Lucky” button was replaced with an “Insert Coin” button. Pressing this once enabled the user to play the Pac-Man logo.

Some of the doodle’s that have created buzz among net users include the doodle to commemorate Charlie Chaplin’s 122th birthday last year, John Lenon’s 70th birthday among others.

In India, the search giant took everyone by surprise when it paid homage to India’s first talkie, Alam Ara through a doodle. The doodle of Alam Ara that commemorated 80 years of the first Indian talkie.

Google is the only brand globally, that allows its logo to be played around with. For the company it is to show users its fun side. The company also believes that it allows to connect to its users better.
