ING Vysya Life to sponsor Bangalore hockey team

ESPN Star Sports on Thursday said that ING Vysya Life, a private sector life insurance company will sponsor the Bangalore team for the Premier Hockey League (PHL) from 2006.
 
ING Vysya Life has also signed up as the official life insurer of the Premier Hockey League and as part of it, all participating Indian players will be provided a life insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh each.
 
The Premier Hockey League is a brainchild of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF), ESPN-Star Sports and Leisure Sports Management. ESPN-Star Sports will market and broadcast for 10 years.
 
Frank Koster, MD and CEO, ING Vysya Life said, "The objective of the association is to develop and promote hockey in India. We have made a start with Bangalore Lions. Bangalore Lions, prior to being sponsored by ING Vysya was known as Bangalore Hi-Fliers.
