More juice bars in Punjab

The Punjab Agri Export Corporation (PAGREXCO) yesterday announced its plans to increase the number of juice bars to 150 units from the present 103, which are operational at various locations in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

The corporation had started a scheme for marketing of fruit juice and fruit-based beverages, by setting up refrigerated juice vending machines, a PAGREXCO spokesman said.

"The major objectives of the scheme was to promote horticulture and agro-based industries of Punjab, create market for processed horticulture produce as well as employment opportunities for general public," he added.

"By making refrigerated natural fruit-based beverages available to consumers at prices lower than that of other cold drinks, we are providing them an option of a healthier, more nutritions lifestyle," he said.
