The neck wrap emerged as the favourite winter accessory of Delhi's new chief minister. Following his lead, the author checks out some of the season's specials
A diminutive man with a very aam-aadmi muffler wrapped around his head has drawn the spotlight to this functional piece of winter wear. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's grey- and camel-coloured mufflers have accompanied him to rallies, to his swearing-in ceremony and to the Vidhan Sabha. The cold-queller was also his companion to Raj Path on Republic Day and President Pranab Mukherjee's reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Only on these occasions, he chose to wear it around his neck and not over his head.
Such has been his style statement that apparel shops in Lucknow and Allahabad are now flooded with these grey and brown mufflers which are called (no prizes for guessing) 'Kejriwal Mufflers'.
