A steady downpour delayed the ICC World T20 final between India and Sri Lanka by 40 minutes as the match will now start at 7:10 pm (IST).

However, there was no reduction eduction in overs and it will be a full 20-overs per side game.

The toss will be held at 6:40 pm (IST). The delay was due to a steady downpour just after the prize distribution ceremony of the women's final ended.

The ground was 90 percent covered but once the downpour translated into drizzle, the 70-odd groundsmen of the Bangladesh Cricket Board worked tirelessly to get it back to playing conditions as soon as possible.

With former Sri Lankan international umpire Gamini Silva overseeing the proceedings, they worked commendably to get the ground ready for the match.
