He has done it. Narain Karthikeyan is the first Indian and the first non-Japanese Asian to test-drive a Formula One car. He completed his test-drive for Jaguar's F1 car at the Silverstone circuit in the UK on Thursday.
Narain, who was driving last year's F1 car, clocked 1:26:01, which was the fastest time ever achieved in that particular car. The test, according to experts, was a successful one. The fastest timing for the day was set by Ferrari test-driver Luca Badoer, who clocked 1:23:00.
Two laps in the Jaguar R2, and Karthikeyan was already within two seconds of last year
