Sri Lankan Air, HSBC to launch intl golf tourney

In a bid to promote high-end sports tourism in the island nation, Sri Lankan Airlines, in collaboration with HSBC, would launch an international golf tournament. Christened 'Sri Lankan Strokes', the tournament is specifically for golfers in Asia.
 
The Lankan national carrier already organises two other golf tourneys "� the Sri Lankan Airlines Golf Classic and the NEGC Golf Tournament (for local participants).
 
According to Chandana De Silva, head, corporate communications, Sri Lankan Airlines, the inaugural tournament of 'Sri Lankan Strokes' would be held from March 17-19 at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club in Sri Lanka.
 
David J H Griffiths, chief executive officer, HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives, added in a statement, that "the tournament would be open to HSBC premier customers both in Sri Lanka and abroad."
