Q: Our family is going to buy a Wagon R anniversary edition. Then quite a few people told us that it is not as good a car as the Santro and it will not last. Please help us to make a decision. We are a family of five people. What is your opinion?

A:If you are looking for peppy performance between the Wagon R and the Santro, the former is the choice to make. If, on the other hand, you require a vehicle which will offer you all-round performance, the Santro is the better deal, thanks to a more compliant gearshifter. The Santro offers slightly better shoulder-room and more comfortable seats for three-abreast seating in the rear. Ride and handling characteristics are near identical though. Interior fit and finish levels too in the Santro are considerably better, though the instrument console lacks the Wagon R
