The ship carrying the machinery for setting up the first plant of the company in India was sunk on its way from Europe during the Word War II, but Chinubhai manufactured the equipment and set up a plant with a capacity of one tonne a day, Amol said.
At present, the plant operates at a capacity of 400 tonnes a day and the company reported a turnover of Rs 107 crore for the financial year 2002-03.
