UTV New Media, the digital arm of UTV, has launched a music video channel UTV@Play for mobile TV available on Idea, Vodafone, BSNL and MTNL. Users can send an SMS and get a WAP link that will allow them to download the application. They can also directly download the application from the operators’ WAP portals.
The channel will host exclusive content which will include music videos in Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bhojpuri and Marathi languages during the time of launch.
In the second phase, the offering would include content in Malayalam, Bengali and Gujarati languages too. The facility is available at subscription rates of Rs 10 per day or at Rs 30 per month.
“UTV@Play is gives subscriber an absolute TV viewing experience on the mobile handset. We are sure that the youth will accept with utmost zeal and enthusiasm,” said T N Prabhu, CEO, UTV New Media.
