Sometime in 2009, two friends met up to reminisce about their school days in one of Bengaluru’s oldest pubs, Noon Wines. Fuelled by pitchers of draught beer, the 20-somethings chalked out a business plan to save them from the drudgery of 9-to-5 jobs that waited for them after college. The plan was mapped out on a tissue paper.
Shortly after Varun Agarwal and Rohn Malhotra left the pub, the paper was used to freshen up after they were stopped by traffic cops. Some unfortunate barfing had followed. But tissue or no tissue, the duo stuck with the plan they had discussed.
