It takes a heart to save a heart. That's the message Sania Mirza sought to endorse for SACH (Save A Child's Heart Foundation), which launched a new countrywide campaign to save little hearts. |
The proceeds from the SACH band, a wrist band endorsed by Sania launched here on Wednesday, will go towards helping children with heart diseases through SACH. Film personalities Jagapathi Babu, Charmi and Vishnuvardhan were the first to receive the bands, which will be soon available at multiple outlets across the country. |
"SACH has provided aid for the treatment of over 1,000 children in the past two years. We are working on a one-third principle. While Apollo will fund one-third the cost, one-third will be borne by the government of Andhra Pradesh and for the remaining we are looking at individual and institutional support," said K Hari Prasad, CEO, Apollo Hospitals. |
The total cost per surgery comes to about Rs 25,000 for less complicated cases and Rs 50,000 for complicated cases, he added. At present, SACH has a list of over 3,240 children waiting for surgery. |
SACH is a charitable organisation under the Apollo group, registered with the government of Andhra Pradesh and authorised by the Government of India to receive donations from foreign donors. |
