In accordance with the Pouranic (mythological) traditions, scion of Mysore royal family Srikantadatta Narasimaharaja Wodeyar will conduct the festivities from October 4 to October 12, for nine days.

He will hold a private durbar in the palace for eight days, restricted to his invitees and foreign tourists, and on the last date go in the Vijaya Dashami procession.
