Indian Cricket Board officials, headed by president Sharad Pawar, will interact with former captains on April 6 to chalk out the future of the game in the country and on means to take it forward in the wake of the team's disastrous World Cup campaign. "The board's office bearers will meet four or five former captains, whose names will be decided later, on April 6 here before the working committee meets on April 7," Ratnakar Shetty, chief administrative officer, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), said. The BCCI officials who will meet the former skippers include President Sharad Pawar, vice presidents, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer. "The meeting with former captains of recent vintage has been convened to discuss the future of Indian cricket," Shetty said. Incumbent coach Greg Chappell's term ends in April. Pawar has already hinted at taking harsh decisions in the wake of the Rahul Dravid-led squad's dismal show in the World Cup in West Indies in which it failed to enter the second stage after having been touted as a potential champion. |
