South Korean automaker Hyundai launched the Creta Petrol automatic variant (SX+) in India, priced at Rs. 12.86 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Creta petrol automatic is powered by a 1.6-litre VTVT engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It is available in the SX+ variant and the SUV comes equipped with AVN, projector headlamps with LED positioning, rear parking camera and sensors, smart key with push button, 17-inch alloy wheels, a leather wrap on steering wheel and fully automatic temperature control.
Announcing the launch of the automatic variants, Rakesh Srivastava, Sr VP - Sales & Marketing, HMIL, said, "Hyundai Motor India has witnessed tremendous success with the CRETA - the perfect SUV. With safety as our priority we have also introduced Dual Airbags as standard across all Creta variants. The new Automatic variants and enhanced safety features will be instrumental in achieving our aim to be the most preferred car manufacturer in India."
Hyundai Creta, which made its market entry in India in July 2015, is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. The entire engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with six-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai has also introduced Dual Airbags as standard across all Creta variants.
Based on Hyundai Motor's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, the Creta SUV had crossed one lakh bookings within eight months of its entry into the market. Hyundai Creta petrol AT has a waiting period of up to 10 weeks in the country.
