Maruti Suzuki's all-new Suzuki Super Carry light commercial vehicle (LCV) will be launched in South Africa by Suzuki Auto SA in June. The price of the LCV start from 129,900 Rand (Rs. 5.58 lakh).
Manufactured in India by Maruti Suzuki, the Super Carry is powered by the 1.2-litre GB14 four-cylinder petrol engine with multi-point fuel injection, good for 72 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 101 Nm of torque @ 3,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Claimed to be the “most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class”, the Super Carry comes with a 3-year, 100,000 km warranty.
The Super Carry has a payload rating of 750 kg, while measuring 3.8 m in length and 1.56 m in width. The load deck measures 2.18 m length and 1.49 m in width.
Ground clearance stands at 175 mm and the turning cycle is pegged at 8.6 m. The LCV rides on an independent front suspension featuring MacPherson struts and coil springs while a rigid axle and leaf springs suspend the rear.
The Super Carry is expected to be launched in India in the coming months, but power is expected to come from the 0.8-litre, twin-cylinder, diesel engine with an CNG/LPG option from the Celerio hatchback.
