If you are planning to buy Mahindra's latest offering, the KUV 100, then be ready to wait to drive your car. KUV100 waiting period, which was close to two weeks, has now increased to as much as six weeks in some cities. The wait period was the same for both petrol and diesel variants of KUV100.
When bookings of KUV100 commenced on December 19, 2015, deliveries were promised with a wait period of two weeks. In the backdrop of the anticipated demand, M&M had confirmed that production capacity at its Chakan facility would be increased from 9,000 units a month to 12,000 units in less than six months.
Apart from its dealer network, Mahindra has also enlisted the services of various e-commerce platforms to sell the car. The cars can be booked even on Flipkart, as well as Mahindra's own e-retail platform, M2ALL.
KUV100, which stands for Kool Utility Vehicle, was launched on January 15, and is the smallest offering from the Mahindra stable. The KUV100, which features a unique blend of SUV'ish elements in a hatchback-crossover form, has been designed to satisfy the demands from the urban buyers.
The KUV100 has seven variants on offer - K2, K2+, K4, K4+,K6, K6+ and K8 - available in 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol variants were priced in the Rs 4.42 lakh- Rs 5.91 lakh bracket, the diesel cars were priced between Rs 5.22 lakh-Rs 6.76 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pune).
