January 27, 2016: The Vitara Brezza, which will be introduced by Maruti Suzuki at the Auto Expo on February 3, is likely to feature a diesel engine for domestic sales in India, and a petrol version for exports.
The Maruti SUV will be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine, while the 1.5-litre M series engines in the petrol variant will be for exports, it is learnt. Maruti is launching the model to take on the likes of Mahindra TUV300, the Hyundai Creta and the Ford EcoSport.
India’s leading carmaker will showcase the Vitara Brezza at the Auto Expo and launch it a few weeks later. The SUV features wide 16" alloys nested in distinct squarish wheel arches, bold front fascia and definitive and dynamic side profile.
The Vitara Brezza has been designed and engineered by Maruti Suzuki development teams led by the chief engineer CV Raman. The company hopes to sell around 10,000 units every month. The model will also be exported to Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
