Volvo Cars launched its mid-sized luxury sedan, the S60 Cross Country, in India on Friday. The new model will be available at Rs38.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The car, first unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show last year, is powered by a D4, 2.5-L, five-cylinder diesel engine generating max power of 190hp at 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 420 Nm at 1,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, featuring the Volvo All Wheel Drive system.
The Swedish automaker sells the S60 in India, compared to which the new model has a higher ground clearance of 201 mm (65 mm more than the S60).
“Nothing could be more appropriate for India than a Cross Country sedan,” said Tom von Bonsdorff, managing director, Volvo Auto India. “Our customers want their car to glide through the rough roads but had to compromise on the rear seat comfort of a sedan. Our latest launch, S60 Cross Country addresses both these in a unique blend of sporty ruggedness. We have included all the capability driven features standard offering in a unique 'all weather, all road' experience.”
The S60 Cross Country is available in five exterior colour options: Rich Java, Osmium Grey, Oynx Black, Crystal White and Bright Silver.
