Yamaha Motors launched its entry-level bike, the Saluto RX at a price of Rs46,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is aimed at the young looking for comfort and a sporty look, but with fuel economy and an affordable price.
The Yamaha Saluto RX features a new, 4-stroke SOHC, 110 cc, two-valve, single-cylinder engine with a mileage of 82 kmpl. Weighing 98 kg, it is 22 kg lighter than its predecessor.
The lightweight bike has a maximum torque of 8.5 Nm at 4,500 rpm. It is available in four colours: Matte Black, Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black.
"The launch of the unique 110 cc bike is a clear illustration of Yamaha's endeavour to cater to the aspirations of young India," said Masaki Asano, managing director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd.
According to him, India is the largest two wheeler market in the world with nearly 16 million units sold last year and is a strategically important market for the company.
