SPE Films India, the wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, owner of the Columbia Tristar banner, has picked up distribution rights of a Bengali film in India.
This is the maiden venture of SPE Films in terms of distribution of regional language movies. Vikramjit Roy, head of operations, SPE Films, said the company would explore the possibility of picking up distribution rights of more regional movies in the future.
