Delhi-based menswear apparel company Study By Janak (SBJ) Fashions Pvt. Ltd has is test-marketing women's wear in its homeground. |
The company, which has two divisions, namely 'Study By Janak' and 'SBJ 690' will soon roll out women's wear in other cities in the coming months. Moreover, SBJ is also expanding its retail chain from the present 50 stores to 80 stores by the end of financial year 2007-08. |
Talking of its future plans, Deven Sinha, Vice President-Sales and Marketing said, "We are investing about Rs 1-1.5 crore per store for the high-end menswear stores 'Study By Janak' and around Rs 25 lakh per store for 'SBJ 690' where the apparel is priced at Rs 690 onwards. By the end of the financial year, we will be setting up five 'Study By Janak' stores and 75 SBJ 690 stores across the country." |
Spread over an area of between 3,000 sq ft and 7,000 sq ft 'Study By Janak' houses men's wear priced from Rs 2,500 to as high as Rs 1.5 lakh. The company's lower-end apparel are sold at 'SBJ 690' outlet, the first of which in Gujarat will be opened soon at an upcoming mall in Ahmedabad. |
The company intends to set up five stores in the state, with a second store in Ahmedabad and one each in Surat, Baroda and Rajkot. |
'Study By Janak' stores feature men's partywear, ethnicwear, casuals and formals. If the test-marketing is successful, Sinha added that the company would launch a range of women's wear in the rest of the stores. |
