A few months ago ICVL authorities had decided to invite expression of interest (EoI) to shortlist investment and merchant bankers.
The decision to finally zero in on the merchant and investment bankers was taken recently.
In all, 12 investment bankers across the globe had applied for the EoI. ICVL took three months to do this.
The fees of bankers would now be fixed after discussions at ICVL's next meeting.

"It will not be proper to disclose anything at the moment as matters are still at a primary stage. The exercise is almost over and you will have to give us some more time," said Partha S Bhattacharya, chairman, CIL. The identified investment bankers were divided into two categories - A and B.
While A category would include bankers with a global view and international experience and fame, category B bankers were domestic firms with less experience in their respective fields.
Six investment bankers were in category A and four in category B.
Selection of bankers was done on the basis of markings of over 50 and below 40.
